The Serreyn Family

Liz and I have been friends for well over a decade now...(wow, now I feel old!) and I couldn't believe it when she said that they'd never had family photos done.  I was so honored that she asked me to photograph her beautiful family!  We rescheduled from a recent day to some drizzly/dreary weather and we got so lucky with today's gorgeous weather!

Here are just a few of my favorites from our session today!

The Sodren's

I can't even begin to tell you all how much I love this family.  Crystal and I have been friends since we were 15.  I remember sitting in health class together and she was telling me all about her boyfriend Jason.  It was evident even then...how smitten she was.  Fast forward into the future and here they are.  They are married, still head over heels in love and have 3 beautiful children.
It was such a pleasure to do photos for them tonight...I've been photographing their children for several years yet, but this was the first time we did a family session too.  Don't they have an amazingly beautiful family?!  I had a REALLY hard time narrowing down photos of them.

Maebel ~ 9 months

I absolutely adore this little girl!  Her pinch-able cheeks, captivating eyes and stunning smile are the perfect trio to draw you in!  We headed to the beautiful Maplewood Nature Center today for her 9 month photos and it was a beautiful day for it too.

Here are some of my favorite photos from today, and let me tell you...It was hard to narrow them down!

Courtenay & Chris ~ An adoption adventure

I've known Courtenay for some time now and was eagerly stalking her new blog in which she talks all about the new adventure that her and her husband Chris are embarking upon...adoption!  I've been trying to encourage and cheer them on the best I can and when she approached me about a photo session so that they could have updated photos of themselves for their adoption portfolio, I was both honored and excited!

We headed out to Como Park on a sweltering Sunday afternoon.  Como is a special park for them as Courtenay enjoys a good run around the lake while Chris drinks his morning coffee.

I hope that they love these photos like I do and I can't wait to continue to cheer them on during this journey.

I'm including this last photo on the blog post simply because at the end of the shoot...They tried to tell me that they "don't do silly".  I beg to differ...

Travis and Dolores ~ Engagement

Travis is the younger brother of one of my best friends, so it truly was a pleasure to do his engagement photos and I very eagerly said yes when he asked me.  Travis is almost like family to me as my friends are very dear to me.  He and his fiancee Dolores told me they had a particular spot they liked to go to in the evening to enjoy the sights of the city and walk together.  When a couple can choose to have their engagement photos done at a location that has meaning to them, I think it makes the photos that much better.  I had a great time with you two and I hope you really like these photos.

Brendan ~ 18 months

I have been photographing this boy since he was 10 days old. For his 18month photos, we explored a bit of Stillwater. Now, I'm ashamed to admit, that I've never really spent time in Stillwater. But, now I'm as smitten with that city as I am with this little boy! How could you not love a boy with cheeks and eyes like he has?! He is definitely 18 months as he kept me on my toes and kept me moving through the whole shoot, but it was worth it. Here's some of my favorite photos from our day together in beautiful Stillwater.
